Frank and Marjorie Meek Collection, ca. 1940's-1990's.

The Frank and Marjorie Meek Collection consists of over nine hundred photographs as well as news releases from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Photographic images include people, landscapes, celebrations, city scenes, wildlife, farm scenes, spring thaw and Alaskan roads. The images were taken in the Fairbanks area, the Matanuska Valley, Umnak Island, and the Pribilof Islands. The news releases include a notice of Frank Meek's visit to Fairbanks for a series of lectures named in his honor.

Ernest Henry Gruening (February 6, 1887 – June 26, 1974) was an American journalist and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, Gruening was the Governor of the Alaska Territory from 1939 until 1953 and a United States Senator from Alaska from 1959 until 1969.
