The LarVern B. and George L. Keys Papers consist of photographs, correspondence, newsclippings, and memoirs relating to the Keyses' involvement in the early years of the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines (now University of Alaska Fairbanks) and their lives in Alaska. Manuscript material includes the couple's memoirs from the time of George L. Keys's arrival in gold rush Alaska as a young boy in the 1890s, notes on the visit of President Harding to the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines, and notes regarding construction of the college's first power plant, 1922-1925. Photographs include images of campus life and provide a glimpse of the early campus buildings and layout.
