The Rhodes Arnold Collection consists of photographs and memorabilia relating to aviation and aircraft in Alaska. The bulk of the images were taken in the Aleutian Islands and are of military aircraft and flight crews stationed there during World War II. Other images include military construction in the Aleutians and around Alaska both during and after World War II. Many of the photographs of aircraft are identified, and the collection provides excellent documentation of the types of aircraft used in the Aleutians during World War II.Also included in the collection are copies of microfilm from various repositories with unit histories, diaries, and statistics relating to World War II in Alaska.
