Correspondence, reports, plans, statistical data, fire tower manning reports, and minutes kept by departmental committees of Don Wilson and, later, Richard S. Story, section supervisors. The section was charged with promoting and assisting in developing an effective and continuous program of forest fire prevention. Topics covered include forest development, prescribed burning, land use and ownership, fire damage, aerial fire detection, lookout towers, inspection, tornado damage, and public education.

The Pine Island Civilian Conservation Corp camp was established on June 21, 1933 and operated until August 1934.
