Pittman-Robertson program records, 1937-1983.

Records relating to the Conservation Department's implementation of the Pittman-Robertson Act (Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act), approved by Congress in September 1937 and functional in July 1938. The act provides funding for the selection, restoration, rehabilitation, and improvement of wildlife habitat; wildlife management research; the distribution of information produced by the project, hunter training programs; and development, operation, and maintenance of public target ranges.
