Viola Maehren papers, 1952-2000 (bulk 1952-1962).

Clippings scrapbook, newsletters, political literature, correspondence, and photographs of a St. Paul (Minn.) businesswoman in the insurance industry who also was active in politics. The papers document Maehren's involvement in and the activities of several St. Paul women's organizations (St. Paul Association of Insurance Women, Business and Professional Women's Association of St. Paul, and Inter-Club Council of Saint Paul). They also reflect her participation in Republican and Constitution party politics and her interest in contemporary political issues, including what she believed was excessive taxation and the threat posed by communism.
