Correspondence, newspaper clippings, and a few legal papers relating to Elbert A. Young and family. Young was a partner in a pioneer mercantile concern in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was appointed Ramsey County Assessor in March, 1919. His plan for a new method of assessment and his institution of a vertical card index system for properties resulted in the system being copied all over the country.
