Land and emigration (London, England), 1871-1873 [microform].

A promotional newspaper published monthly in London, England, by the Northern Pacific Railroad Company to encourage emigration to its vast land grant. Articles, reprints of speeches and government reports, testimonials, letters from settlers, and maps convey information, in a consistently positive tone, on the geography, climate, natural resources, agricultural products, and institutions of the area; the availability and price of land; emigration procedures; assistance provided by the Northern Pacific; meetings of emigration societies; and the formation of emigration colonies. Minnesota is emphasized throughout the publication.
