The Great Northern held 116 shares of its capital stock in payment for construction materials. The stock was declared worthless in 1898.

The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam.
