James B. Sinclair was professor of plant pathology at Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College in Baton Rouge, La. In 1968 he accepted a position in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he taught until his retirement in 1996.
