Typed reminiscences of John T. Cox, recorded by Horace S. Lyman, regarding Cox's overland journey from Andrew County, Missouri (June 1846) to Oregon (December 1846). Discusses stampede of oxen, hunting buffalo, and traveling the Barlow Road over the Cascade Range; second half of account is information about Cox's enlistment in the Cayuse War following the Whitman Massacre.
