Heath Steele papers, 1909-1979.

The collection contains business correspondence and records of the American Metal Company (AMCO) reflecting Steele's work from the 1920s through 1954. In addition there are Steele's reports on mines, smelters, mining methods, and costs covering areas in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South Africa. Also included are photographs and photo albums of mines, mine buildings, Heath Steele, and the Steele family.

Heath McClung Steele (1884-1956) was a director and vice president of American Metal Company, Limited from 1923 to 1954. The company engaged in mining in many parts of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South Africa. He was also president of various subsidiary companies, such as Compania Minera de Penoles, S.
