In (1) he discusses the acting of Montague Stanley. (4) was written on the occasion of the death of Kean's mother. Lord Jeffrey's reaction to Kean's acting and box office receipts of his 1837 Edinburgh tour and 1842 Glasgow tour are mentioned in (5). In (6) Buchanan praises Kean for his interpretation of Lear.
