Léar tragédie [manuscript], ca. 1780.

The adaptation by Jean Franc̜ois Ducis, first produced and published (as Le Roi Lear) in 1783. a rough draft, with many currente calamo alterations and interlineations, the whole, it appears, in Ducis's autograph. The play is far removed from the original, Cordelia (renamed Volnerille) not appearing in person, Edmund being omitted, and the ending happy.
