Papers include personal files, photographs, correspondence, newspaper clippings, an autobiographical manuscript of his college days, service records and yearbooks. Two ledgers contain Neyland's handwritten notes on various teams, hand-diagrammed plays, notes on player progress and other items.

West Point, N.Y., was originally utilized as a strategic defense location during the American Revolution. West Point is geographically located on a 100 ft. plateau overlooking the Hudson River. General Robert Neyland attended Texas A&M and West Point, where he excelled in football, baseball and boxing. He served in World War I, against Pancho Villa in Mexico and in World War II, rising to the rank of Brigadier General.
