Lawyer, of Detroit, and attorney general of Michigan. Correspondence, reports, and other papers, chiefly concerning law suits, estate settlements, and other aspects of Kirchner's law practice. Includes material relating to the appointment of a judge for the U. S. Circuit Court, Eastern District of Michigan; organization of the Detroit Bureau of Governmental Research, later known as the Citizens Research Council of Michigan; the libel suit of Hazen S. Pingree against the Detroit Free Press; and the collapse (1898) of the Wonderland Theater building, Detroit.
