Letters : of George Mason of Spring Bank, 1868-1887.

Mason writes to Edward C. Gibbs, Hollin Hall, to ask where Gibbs is insuring his houses after the Civil War, about raising wheat at Hollin Hall, and mentions his own ill health, 1868. Mason receives two letters from Rev. E.S. Dalrymple, 1880, about portraits of George and Ann Mason for sale by a former Union soldier and forwards a copy of the letter he received from the former soldier. The Virginia Historical Society acknowledges a gift of an oak desk belonging to George Mason of Gunston Hall upon which he wrote the Virginia Bill of Rights.
