Correspondence and other writings (some fragments) by John Prager and his aunt Harriet Prager. Prager was a soldier in the 3rd Brigade of Brigadier General James Shields's Division of the 5th Army Corps of the Army of the Potomac. Manuscripts include commentary against secession, Franklin Pierce, the French, and the abandonment of Fort Sumter. Includes original lyrics to the tune, "Yankee Doodle" in the handwriting of Harriet Prager.
