Plan : of the battle field at Bull Run July 21st 1861. [n.d.]

In these two printed plans of the battle field at Bull Run, Whipple depicts with pencil and ink manuscript notations Union forces and the Confederate forces of Gen. Beauregard and Gen. Johnston. Both maps show Bull Run, Centreville, and New Market, but the second version of the map extends its boundaries further west and south, showing Gainesville, Milford, and Manassas. Prepared by Whipple to accompany a report of Brig. Gen. Irvin McDowell, the maps were drawn by J.J. Young, a civil engineer.

2 maps : linen backed ; on sheets 30 x 35 cm. and 35 x 44 cm.
