Letters to Robert Garlick Hill Kean, 1865-1866.

The letters discuss the emigration of many ex-Confederate soldiers from the U.S. to Mexico, and opportunities there for railroad men, engineers, and farmers. Talcott also discusses his own situation as an engineer. With the letters is a printed circular letter, 1866 February 7, from Matthew Fontaine Maury as Imperial Commissioner, Office of Colonization, encouraging immigration to Mexico.
