Papers : of the Hamner family, 1821-1856.

In a letter, 1846 July 20, Thomas M. Roberts explains to Nicholas Hamner that illness has prevented him from coming to the Hardware congregation. In a letter 1821 August 14, Nicholas Hamner Cobbs of Bedford informs his uncle of the deaths of his mother and a slave woman from "bilious fever." The collection also contains an executors' account book, 1853- 1854 for property sales from the estate of Hamner. The book also includes receipts for 18 slaves his heirs drew by lot. The remainder of the book, and a second, 1855-1856, contains receipts for estate payments to the heirs.
