Journal, 21 June-11 Oct. 1822.

Manuscript journal of Miss Blankley, a young British woman traveling with her parents. After a brief stay in London, where the author described the sights and amusements, the family embarked on the Gravesend steam packet at Tower Stairs. At Gravesend they boarded the NEW BRAGANZA, but were forced by storms in the Channel into Ryde for nearly two weeks, after which they crossed to Portsmouth. The family reached Malta on Aug. 4, and were greeted by relatives. The author described social functions she attended, including a ball on the H.M.S. REVENGE. The family left Malta on August 24, and arrived in Corfu 4 days later. Miss Blankley compared Corfu unfavorably with Valetta. Journal includes a description of the underground prison at Marettimo in the Egadi Islands.
