Tau Kappa Epsilon is an international fraternity that was started January 10, 1899, in Illinois. The Gamma Alpha Chapter at the University of Wyoming was started on May 22, 1949, with 26 charter members. It continued to be active on campus until the early 1970s, holding activities such as dances, parties, pledge rushes, songfests, snow sculpture contests, and community service activities.
