New Home Club records, 1937-1987.

The collection consists largely of administrative records of the Club, dating mostly from the 1950s to 1970s. The records document the Club's efforts to remain financially solvent, develop membership, and arrange social activities. The collection contains assorted financial records; records concerning the Club's anniversaries (1947-1987), including a few photographs taken at the events, and a videotape of the 13 September 1987 celebration; membership lists (1937-1987); records of the annual meetings (1951-1952, 1967-1985); and the meetings of the board of directors (1963-1985). The correspondence files of the Club's presidents (1950-1987) usually deal with financial and membership matters. The collection also includes flyers advertising the Club's activities (1949-1987); a 1946 history of the group; newsclippings (1952-1979); a small amount of correspondence regarding Seder Night (1953-1979); and a file concerning the group's dissolution (1985-1987). The only record from the World War II era is a membership list; nothing exists documenting the efforts to assist Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany. Only passing mention can be found concerning the relief fund for Jews in Austria and Germany after the war.
