Piet graduated from Hope College in 1936 and from Western Theological Seminary in 1939. He earned a Ph. D. from Columbia University in 1952. Piet served the Reformed Church in America as a missionary at India's Arcot Mission from 1940-1960. In 1960 he joined the faculty at Western Theological Seminary as professor of English Bible and Missions. He retired in 1984. From the description of Papers, 1940-1970.
