Mulder graduated from Hope College in 1917, from the University of Michigan in 1918, and from Western Theological Seminary in 1921. He was licensed and ordained a minister by the Reformed Church in America in 1921. From 1921-1924 Mulder taught at Central College in Pella, Iowa. From 1928-1960 Mulder taught Systematic Theology at Western Theological Seminary. He served as president of the seminary from 1942-1960. From the description of Papers, 1928-1960.
