General correspondence dealing with all aspects of libraries and librarianship; a subject file containing correspondence, typescripts, mimeographed reports, and related printed material on all aspects of libraries and librarianship, with numerous folders for the University of Chicago and Columbia University Libraries; working papers for many library surveys conducted by Tauber, including six boxes of material relating to his survey of Australian libraries; and two boxes of correspondence and other material for Tauber and Lilley's U.S. Office of Education Project: FEASIBILITY STUDY REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN EDUCATIONAL MEDIA RESEARCH INFORMATION SERVICE, 1960; working papers of many American Library Association, American National Standards Institute, and other professional organization conferences and committee meetings. Manuscripts include correspondence and related material, including galley sheets and a mimeographed preliminary edition of Tauber's TECHNICAL SERVICES IN LIBRARIES, 1954; typescript drafts and related maerial for Wilson and Tauber THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY, 1945, 1956; the typescript draft of Tauber's biography LOUIS ROUND WILSON, 1967. Editorial files for COLLEGE AND RESEARCH LIBRARIES, including correspondence, office records, and typescripts of articles accepted and rejected for publication. Also, typescript of Tauber's LIBRARY SURVEYS, 1968; additional manuscript for THE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY; papers on cataloging code revision; and papers on educational media research.
