Mary Ellen and Laurence Blair collection 1919-1999.

Collection contains material related to the research and publication of two books written by Mary Ellen and Laurence Blair -- Margaret Tafoya: a Tewa potter's heritage and legacy, and The Legacy of a master potter: Nampeyo and her descendants. Copies of the books are in the library's collection. Margaret Tafoya series contains research on Margaret Tafoya, her pottery and family; the development of pottery in the southwest; and information and images pertaining to pueblo artists and culture. Nampeyo series contains research on Nampeyo and her community, family and the individuals who forwarded her career - Thomas Varker Keam and Alexander McGregor Stephen. Also included are text, images and captions for the book, files on Hopi collections in America and Europe, audio interviews and pottery samples.
