Letters to William R. Thayer, 1894-1922.

A small collection of letters from Henry Cabot Lodge, U.S. Senator from Mass., to William R. Thayer, author and editor. The letters concern copies of Lodge's speeches to be published, Thayer's books, domestic politics and the international situation prior to World War I, U.S. entry into the war, Woodrow Wilson and his attempt to negotiate peace, and the League of Nations. There are also a few letters related to the Mass. Historical Society (of which Lodge was president) and a few letters from George C. Lodge regarding information for an article in the Harvard Graduates' Magazine which Thayer edited.
