The collection contains correspondence, 1791-1811, accounts, legal records and estate materials of William Russell, clerk of the Virginia Court of Admiralty and the Virginia District Court in Williamsburg, Va. (including materials concerning the estate of Thomas Russell of York County, Va., and materials compiled by attorney Henry Tazewell) and of Benjamin Powell, also concerning the Virginia Court of Admiralty. Also contains correspondence, 1800-1829, of Anthony Robinson, clerk of the Virginia District Court of Richmond and U.S. District Court for Eastern Virginia. Land records concern "Brick House" plantation in Henrico County and lots in Richmond, Va. Additional correspondence and estate materials concern Mrs. Jane Hunter Charlton of Williamsburg, Va. Also contains letters and records of land in Henrico County and Richmond, Va., of William Armistead Robinson and other members of the Robinson family; and records, 1783-1792, of cases in the Virginia General Court.
