Papers : of the Neblett family, 1819-1891.

The collection contains personal and professional correspondence, 1833-1871, of Dr. Sterling Neblett (1792-1871) of Bolivar County, Miss., and "Brickland," Lunenburg County, Va., including letters of Robert Nathaniel Neblett (of "Norborne Hill, " Nottoway County, Va., and while serving with the Confederate States Army in Nansemond County, Va.) and Dr. Sterling Neblett (1825-1877) of "Woodland, " Lunenburg County, Va., and while serving with the 24th Virginia Infantry Regiment, C.S.A., in Fairfax County, Va. Also contains Dr. Neblett's personal accounts and his financial records, agreements with plantation overseers, records of land dealings in Mississippi, and records of the shipment of cotton from Bolivar Bend, Miss., to New Orleans, La. The collection also contains correspondence and accounts of Ann S. Macfarland Neblett, William James Neblett (merchant in Bolivar Bend, Miss.), Robert Nathaniel Neblett, and James H.M. Neblett.
