This collection contains bound handwritten, registers of lands granted to the University. Information included in registers: topographical description and township maps showing waterways and surface water, railroads, cities and towns, lands sold/deed numbers, etc. deed and lease numbers; valuation of land per acre and total sale price; payments made on purchase or lease of lands; name of purchase or leasee; remarks on lands, i.e., forfeiture, cancellation, deeds given, etc. Bound into the back of Register #1 is a copy of "Geological Sketch of the State of Missouri illustrated by Maps," by Geo C. Swallow ... St. Louis, R.A. Campbell, 1873.

The first record of a Business Manager for the University is from 1914. In 1970 the title of the office was changed to Vice President for Business Management and the position of Business Manager was abolished at that time.
