Les Lloyd papers, 1942-1951.

The Les Lloyd Papers consist predominantly of correspondence and related materials, such as newspaper clippings, received by Lloyd from George Peavy. The correspondence pertains to the School of Forestry, alumni, Peavy's activities during retirement, and foresty and logging topics. Most of the letters were handwritten by Peavy. Some of the correspondence pertains to the 1948 Rose Bowl football game between the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan; the collection also includes a program for this game. Lloyd and several other forestry alumni made arrangements for Peavy to attend the game. The papers also include the constitution and by-laws for the Oregon State College Forestry Alumni Association, meeting minutes for the Association, and an issue of the Fernhopper Newsletter for Summer 1946. Several items written by Earl G. Mason, Dean of the School of Forestry in 1936-1942, are also included. The photograph depicts Peavy with the car that he received as a gift from forestry alumni in 1947.
