Harold Simmons Tate (1903-1982) was a professor of Industrial Education at Clemson College from 1925 until 1941; in the years following World War II (1945 to 1953), Tate used his knowledge of textile production to advise foreign governments (Japan, China, the Philippines, and Greece) on various issues related to the textile industry.
