Lawrence Jack Smith (born April 25, 1941) is an American lawyer and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida's 16th congressional district from 1983 to 1993. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he attended public schools in East Meadow, New York and New York University in before graduating with LL.B. and J.D. degrees from Brooklyn Law School. He was admitted to the New York bar in 1964 and he commenced practice in New York City. In 1972...
