Statement of protest, 1642 December 31.

The manuscript is a handwritten transcription of Louis Condé's statement of protest against his arranged marriage (in February, 1641) to Claire Clémence de Maillé-Brézé, the niece of Cardinal Richelieu. Richelieu had died shortly before the writing of this letter (1642 Dec. 4).
