Novel set in the Da Nang area and the An Hoa Basin of Vietnam in 1969. A Viet Cong assassination squad exploits Marine battle plans in the Dodge City area south of Da Nang. The Marines attempt to reinvent their operational approach, linking with both an Australian SAS advisor and the Republic of Korea (ROK) Marines to develope an effective counterinsurgency team.
