This grant was issued October 10, 1839, by the U.S. government to Flournoy as assignee of Dorinda Tunstall. The land granted was seventy acres in the "District of Sands" near Helena, Arkansas. The grant was issued in the name of President Martin Van Buren and appears to bear an authentic signature of his son and secretary, Martin Van Buren, Jr.
