Martin Kalmanoff, American composer of operas, musicals, choral works, religious services and popular songs, was born in Brooklyn, NY, May 24, 1920, and died July 14, 2007, in Mendham, NJ. Robert Hillyer was born in East Orange and he taught English and rhetoric at Harvard for several decades. In 1934 he won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry for "The Collected Verse of Robert Hillyer."
