This is a collection of letters and other papers referring to various Confederate courts martial including the transcript of the trial of William J. Malone on charges of selling government property, and his final defense; several writs of habeas corpus; and letters concerning the trials of several men charged with desertion and other crimes. Charges were brought against Major William H. Pryor, Col. Joseph Mayo, Jr., Col. John A. Baker, Benjamin F. Clardy, second lieutenant F.H. Cobb, S.A. Gills, W.B. Hampton, and P.H. Robertson, mostly at courts in Petersburg and Charlotte Court House, Va.
