Born at Chariton, Iowa, son of John W. and Clarenda (Sanderson) Shepperd. Graduated Iowa State College in 1891, earned master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. Began employment with North Dakota Agricultural College in 1893. Wed Adele Frances Taylor (1864-1954) in 1895. Named Dean of Agriculture in 1909, Chairman of the Livestock Dept. of the Experiment Station in 1914. Received a doctorate from Iowa State College in 1928. Served as president of N.D.A.C. from 1930 to 1937. Died in Fargo...
