Fitzgerald, and his death in an 1897 railroad accident following a blizzard, her mother, Margaret Mary and her death, being raised by an aunt, Elizabeth Owens (1837-1920), attending St. John's Academy, Jamestown, N.D. and visits by Bishop Shanley to the Academy.
