A group of St. Louis women founded St. Louis Children's Hospital as a charity venture in 1879. Physicians of Homoeopathic Medical College of Missouri staffed the hospital from 1879-1910. When the college closed, the hospital sought another medical school affiliation. Following negotiations between Grace Jones, president of the hospital Board of Managers, and Robert S.
