Records of Baltimore Yearly Meeting [BYM] include minutes (1821-1943), financial records (1802-1932), etc.; also minutes, etc. of BYM Meeting of Women Friends (ca. 1677-1890), Ministers and Elders (1740-1948) and Meeting for Sufferings (1775-1877); minutes, etc. of BYM committees (Pastoral, Indian, Foreign missions, Education, etc.); also memorials of deceased Friends, membership statistics, disciplines, etc.; records of Friends Association of Baltimore to Advise and Assist Friends of Southern States (1864-1891, minutes, annual reports, letterbooks, account book); records of Baltimore Quarterly, Monthly and Preparative Meetings (1710-1968, minutes, statistics, certificates, reports, membership and financial records, etc.) and their constituent meetings (Women, Ministers and Elders, Ministry and Oversight, etc.) and committees; minutes, etc. for other Preparative Meetings (Bendersville, Gunpowder and Indian Spring); minutes, etc. for Monthly Meetings (includes Ashton, Centre, Deer Creek, Elkhorn Valley (W. Va.), Fishertown, Hopewell, Indian Spring, Light Street, Lincoln, Patuxent, Washington (D.C.)); minutes (1840-1919) of Dunnings Creek Half Years and Quarterly Meetings. Records of Virginia Yearly Meeting (1674-1885, minutes, correspondence, disciplines, etc.) include records of its Meeting of Women Friends (1763-1825), Ministers and Elders (1758-1853) and Meeting for Sufferings (1811-1840); proceedings of School Company at Cedar Creek (1790-1799); minutes of Va. Half Years and Quarterly Meetings; also records (minutes, manumissions, birth, death and marriage records, certificates, etc.) of Monthly Meetings (includes Black Creek, Blackwater, Corinth, Goose Creek, Henrico, Richmond, Somerton, South River, Upper, Western Branch (Isle of Wight Co.)).

Baltimore Yearly Meeting of Friends (Orthodox) resulted from the 1828 Separation into Hicksite and Orthodox branches of Baltimore Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends. The Orthodox meeting was at Homewood, while the Hicksite branch met at Stony Run. The two meetings were reunited in 1968. Virginia Yearly Meeting (ca. 1684-1843) became Virginia Half Years Meeting in 1843 (under Baltimore Yearly Meeting) and then Virginia Quarterly Meeting in 1912. From the description of...

Black Water Monthly Meeting [Also called Surry, Burley and Gravelly Run Monthly Meeting before 1800] established: 1672, 1692, 1702 or 1737 depending upon the record, continued after 1752 as Surry or Black Water.
