Lord Leighton tersely refuses a request for an article, saying "you are in error in believing that I have written for the 'Youth's Companion" in the United States. I have to make it a rule to decline all literary contribution to periodicals and magazines." Possibly written to editor S. S. McClure. A clipped magazine portrait is pasted to the letter.
