The collection contains the "Korean Diary" that General Stratemeyer kept while commander of the Far East Air Forces. The diary is a detailed account of the Korean conflict from 16 September 1950 through 20 May 1951 and contains letters, minutes of meetings, personal observations and copies of radio messages between Stratemeyer and other high ranking officers. The General's personal observations of the war and the officers with whom he served are included along with a photographic history of the Far East Air Forces showing thirty-five strategic targets in North Korea from 13 July to 26 September 1950.

George Edward Stratemeyer (b. 1890, Cincinnati, Ohio-d. Aug. 11, 1969), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1915, completed pilot training, then transferred to the Air Corps in 1920. After serving in Hawaii, he became an instructor in tactics at West Point and later, an instructor at the Command and General Staff School.
