Account describes Tuck's and his regiment's performances in Civil War battles from the battle of Williamsburg until the battle of Gettysburg when Tuck was captured and later imprisoned at Johnson's Island, Ohio. Includes negative photostats of muster rolls for Company K; receipts for Tuck's pay; prison records and rosters; and Tuck's signature on the oath of allegiance. Also contains transcript of a letter, 7 February 1900, from Flora E. Tuck (1852-1900) of Halifax County, Virginia, to Robert Tuck of Georgia, sending news of the Tuck family.

William Munford Tuck was born 28 September 1896 in Halifax County, Virginia, to William Robert James Tuck (1863-1930) and Virginia Susan Fitts Tuck (1860-1909). He was the grandson of the William Munford Tuck (1832-1899) of the biographical sketch he wrote. Tuck attended the College of William and Mary, but left to enlist in the United States Marine Corps during World War I.
