Southern Baptist missionary to Mexico, 1882-1898. Attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, then at Greenville, South Carolina. Was treasurer of Madero Institute, Saltillo, Mexico, and editor of El Heraldo Mexicano. After his resignation as missionary he served as a field representative for Southwestern Baptist University (now Union University) Jackson, Tennessee and for the Foreign Mission Board.
