Letter : To Edward Stabler, Jr., 1864 Nov. 15.

Primarily concerns the condition of orphans in St. Mary's Co., Md. during the Civil War and charitable support for these orphans. From indications within the letter, it seems that Parrish was involved with the Society of Friends war relief efforts, especially as they were related to orphanages. Testimonies of the plight of the children as well as mention of the government confiscation of plantations in St. Mary's Co. are included.

Dillwyn Parrish was the son of Joseph and Susanna M. Parrish. He was apprenticed to a druggist and later graduated from the College of Pharmacy (Philadelphia).
