Correspondence, rule books, newspaper clippings, articles, patent application for the first racket, geographical files containing orders and invoices, and other papers, relating to Sobek's invention of paddle racquetball at the Greenwich YMCA, various tournaments, and his promotion of the game. Includes correspondence with various municipal recreation agencies, YMCAs, health clubs, schools, racquetball organizations, National Paddle Racquet Corporation, and Magnan Racket Corporation; and an official "Joe Sobek paddle racket" ball and the original Magnan paddle racket.

Inventor of racquetball in 1950, of Greenwich, Conn. He spent much of his life as a tennis and squash raquets professional at the Greenwich Country Club.
